Following the huge success of Stephen King’s It, which was released last year (part two is coming in 2019), filming has begun on the next King adaptation, a redo of his 1983 novel Pet Sematary that is based over at Paramount Pictures.
Filmmaker Dennis Widmyer announced the start of production over on Twitter yesterday. He is pictured with Kevin Kolsch on the set of the movie which features Jason Clarke in the lead as Dr. Louis Creed.

In the film, Creed, his wife Rachel and their two children Gage and Ellie move to a rural home where they are welcomed and enlightened about the eerie ‘Pet Sematary’ located near their home. After the tragedy of their cat being killed by a truck, Louis resorts to burying it in the mysterious pet cemetery, which is definitely not as it seems, as it proves to the Creeds that sometimes, dead is better.
Jeff Buhler adapted the novel for the new film which also stars John Lithgow and Amy Seimetz.
Pet Sematary hits cinemas on April 19th 2019.
