The origami and tattoos return in the first Prison Break Revival footage, watch now.
It appears that this week is the week of the TV trailers. So far we’ve had sneak peeks at Lethal Weapon, Mr. Robot, and 24: Legacy. Now comes the first footage from a revival series of Prison Break.
The show which originally started back in 2005 made a star of both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. Yes, before the pair were the criminal duo of Snart and Rory, aka Captain Cold and Heat Wave in The Flash, they played brothers Lincoln Burrows (Purcell) and Michael Scofield (Miller). The show ran for four seasons and saw Michael purposely get sent to prison so that he could free his brother Lincoln, a man on death row for a crime he didn’t commit.
After the first series the show started to go downhill, and by the end of the fourth series things got awkward and a little painful to watch. With this in mind we were pretty shocked to hear it had been picked for a revival series, but it worked recently for The X-Files (not so much for Heroes). We were wondering just how they were going to bring the show back however, as (Spoiler warning) Michael died during the last episodes. The first trailer will explain everything:
So Michael wasn’t dead, he’s just been bundled off to another prison. It’s nice to see so many familiar faces return – we’ve not seen C-Note properly since way back in series two (he appeared fleetingly in the last couple of episodes of series four). It’s also now Lincoln’s turn to repay the great escape favour, though didn’t that already happen in season three?
We’re keeping our fingers crossed that this will be worth everyone’s time and effort, but we’re definitely still on the fence at the moment. Prison Break returns next year.
