Magnificent Seven trailer: Denzel Washington joins Chris Pratt in Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming retelling of the classic.
The first Magnificent Seven trailer has landed online. The upcoming western is brought to the screen by Antoine Fuqua, who reteams with his Training Day star Denzel Washington for the redo.
Also mounting up for the action-packed re-telling, are the likes of Chris Pratt, Ethan Hawke, Vincent D’Onofrio, Byung-Hun Lee and Peter Sarsgaard. Nic Pizzolatto and Richard Wenk wrote the screenplay forthcoming film, which arrives in cinemas this coming September. Pizzolatto is best known for creating the stunning TV series True Detective, and is also an accomplished novelist. The Magnificent Seven marks his screenwriting debut for a feature. Director Antoine Fuqua brings his modern vision to a classic story in Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’ and Columbia Pictures’ The Magnificent Seven. With the sleepy town of Rose Creek under the deadly control of industrialist Bartholomew Bogue (Peter Sarsgaard), the desperate towns people employ protection from seven outlaws, bounty hunters, gamblers and hired guns – Sam Chisolm (Denzel Washington), Josh Farraday (Chris Pratt), Goodnight Robicheaux (Ethan Hawke), Jack Horne (Vincent D’Onofrio), Billy Rocks (Byung-Hun Lee), Vasquez (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), and Red Harvest (Martin Sensmeier). As they prepare the town for the violent showdown that they know is coming, these seven mercenaries find themselves fighting for more than money.
