Courtney B Vance heads to The Mummy reboot. The actor has been cast in an unspecified role in the movie, which is now shooting in England.
He’s wowing audiences in the superb American Crime Story: The People Vs O.J. Simpson as Johnny Cochran at the moment, but Courtney B Vance is set for something very different next – a role in The Mummy reboot opposite Tom Cruise.
Vance will play an unnamed role in the forthcoming monster-movie reboot, which is currently shooting in the U.K. Tom Cruise, who leads the film, alongside Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson, was recently spotted in Oxford shooting some night scenes, and meeting the locals.
The Mummy is being directed by Alex Kurtzman from a screenplay from Jon Spaihts (who penned Prometheus). The story is set in the modern day with Cruise’s character being a special-forces soldier. Boutella is apparently playing the role of The Mummy.
Filming continues in and around London, and a release dat has been set for the film, which will be June 9, 2017.
