Frequent collaborators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are to make a Where’s Waldo movie for the big screen. The property, named Where’s Wally in the U.K., was first published in 1987, and encourages readers to search for its red and white striped hero character Waldo/ Wally in a sea of imposters.
The books have sold over 55 million copies worldwide, and now Kyle Hunter and Ariel Shaffir are set to adapt them for the big screen. The duo worked with Rogen and Goldberg on their upcoming adult animated fare Sausage Party, which will be unveiled at SXSW this coming week. Rogen and Goldberg will act as producers on the Waldo movie.
No word on whether this will be a straight up animation or live-action, but we’re intrigued by the premise. We’ll keep you updated as the project moves forward.
