“I’ve been doing the right thing now for all these years and where has it gotten me?…Nowhere.”
Last year Jimmy McGill (AKA Saul Goodman) achieved the seemingly impossible. He managed to prove that his low-life, misfortunate, fast-talking lawyer could be just as captivating to audiences as everyone’s favourite chemistry teacher.
In fact, Better Call Saul even managed to surpass its predecessor in many ways. Not only has it successfully layered all of its characters within ten episodes, but the shows light-hearted tone gives it a certain re-watchability factor that was lacking (to a degree) with Breaking Bad. Of course this is all a matter of perspective, but few would argue that the loveable lawyer’s maiden season was a monumental success.
Now, Jimmy and Mike Ehrmantraut will return for a second year. However, this time McGill will be leaning even further towards his destiny as a full time ‘criminal’ lawyer as we meet him in Breaking Bad. Check out the brilliant teaser trailer below:
Better Call Saul will premiere in the US on 15th February and over here in the UK a day later on Netflix.
