Open Road Films is bringing upcoming character driven thriller A Willing Patriot to the U.S.
It stars Liam Neeson as a CIA agent who goes head to head with a terrorist intent on chaos and destruction.
A Willing Patriot was presented to buyers at Cannes this month, and the project has also found a home with distributors from Italy, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, France, German-speaking Europe, Latin America, and Spain. Filming takes place on location in South Africa, Morocco and Tunisia. It’s pencilled in for a 2016 release.
This isn’t the first film Open Road has recently bagged. The company also acquired Fifty Shades of Black at Cannes this week.
Claire Joanne Huxham comes from the south-west, where the cider flows free and the air smells of manure. She teaches A-level English by day and fights crime by night. When not doing either of these things she can usually be found polishing her Star Trek DVD boxsets. And when she can actually be bothered she writes fiction and poetry that pops up on the web and in print. Her favourite film in the whole world, ever, is BLADE RUNNER.
