Ryan Coogler (FRUITVALE STATION) will star work on the planned ROCKY spin-off movie CREED in January. The long planned project, which will focus on the grandson of the legendary [fictional] boxer Apollo Creed (played by Carl Weathers in the classic movies) who will be played by ‘Fruitvale’ and upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR star Michael B. Jordan. Said grandson goes by the interesting name of ‘Adonis’ in Coogler’s screenplay.
Sylvester Stallone has a vested interest in the film, and will actually appear as his most famous character in a supporting role. Character actor Luis Guzmán is also listed as having a role in the film.
The word on the street is that we’ll be seeing CREED towards the end of next year.
Let’s re-live Apollo’s greatest moment… God rest him…
