Lionsgate have officially signed on MAN OF STEEL and BATMAN BEGINS scribe David S. Goyer, to direct the upcoming adaptation of sci-fi thriller novel, THE BREACH. The first of a trilogy, which is followed by ‘Ghost Country’ and ‘Deep Sky’, THE BREACH follows Travis Chase, a man who has been released after 15 years in prison. During a hike he discovers a downed plane, but mysteriously all the passengers have been shot. The plane was also transporting a strange object which sees Travis thrust into the middle of a war for alien technology.
Like his BATMAN BEGINS cohorts, Christopher Nolan and Wally Pfister, it seems as though sci-fi is the way to go. However, Goyer’s directing has left a lot to be desired. He’s given us the fun but daft BLADE: TRINITY, the needless remake of THE INVISIBLE, and the truly atrocious THE UNBORN.
Despite this, we should always try and remain positive and with Patrick Lee’s novel described by JACK REACHER novelist Lee Child as “Audacious and terrifying– and uncannily believable,” it seems s though Goyer has some great material to work from.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies.
