Peacock has announced a Friday The 13th prequel series. The news comes on Halloween via Variety who say that the planned series will be titled Crystal Lake. Bryan Fuller will write, executive produce and be showrunner, so reports the trade.
Not much is known plot-detail-wise, but the story is to take place before the events of the original movie.
Susan Rovner, chairman of entertainment content for NBCUniversal Television and Streaming, said: “Friday the 13th’ is one of the most iconic horror franchises in movie history and we were dying to revisit this story with our upcoming drama series ‘Crystal Lake”.
No news on when this is set to land but we’ll obviously keep you posted.
