Deadline is reporting that a new ‘Naked Gun’ movie is on the way. The project is set up over at Paramount Pictures and Liam Neeson is reportedly in talks to lead the cast.
The trade says that sources state that Neeson is in talks to appear while Akiva Schaffer is set to direct. Dan Gregor and Doug Mand wrote the script, while Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins are producing. No greenlight has officially been given as yet, though, so says the article.
The Naked Gun movie, and its two sequels, were huge hits in the late 1980s and early ’90s earning a collective $216 million across the three movies. The spoofs were led by Leslie Nielsen who starred as detective Lt. Frank Drebin and there are rumours that Neeson is all set to play the son of the character in the planned reboot.
We’ll keep you posted on this. More at the end of the link above.
