Ahead of a premiere at the in-progress SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, The Roku Channel has debuted the trailer for Swimming With Sharks, a new series from creator and showrunner Kathleen Robertson. The series stars Diane Kruger and Kiernan Shipka, along with Donald Sutherland, Thomas Dekker, Finn Jones, Erika Alexander, Ross Butler and Gerardo Celasco.
Swimming With Sharks is about the dark side of the Hollywood studio system and an assistant who turns the tables on an abusive boss.
The series synopsis is as follows: When Lou Simms (Kiernan Shipka) starts her internship at Fountain Pictures she seems like a naïve Hollywood newcomer, awestruck by the studio’s notorious CEO, Joyce Holt (Diane Kruger). In truth, Lou has done extensive research on Joyce and landing this internship was no happy accident. As Lou’s obsession grows, she will do anything to get close to her idol.
All six 30-minute episodes will be available for free when the series launches on The Roku Channel on April 15th.
