Disney+ reveals launch date, first titles for ‘Star’

Coming on February 23rd.

Here’s some exciting news for a Monday morning to hopefully push away those post-Christmas blues. Disney+ has revealed the launch date for their upcoming ‘Star’ service along with the first batch of titles. ‘Star’ is set to become the sixth tile on Disney+, joining the likes of Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic and Pixar. The addition of ‘Star’ sees the content on offer double, but it will come with a slight price increase.

The new Disney+ monthly price will be £7.99 per month, or £79.90 a year from the launch date, which will be the 23rd of February. However, existing subscribers will not see a price increase on the service until 23rd August 2021.

Here’s the exciting bit. Available on ‘Star’ from launch will be the likes of 24, Lost, Desperate Housewives, Atlanta, How I Met Your Mother, The X-Files, Prison Break, and Black-ish. The service will offer up content from Disney Television Studios, FX, 20th Century Studios, and 20th Television. There will be originals Big Sky from David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) and Love Victor which will be available at launch. The shows air Stateside on ABC network and Hulu respectively. Movie-wise, the Die Hard films (or at least some of them) will be available to stream, with other Disney-owned content to be announced. The streamer promises thousands of hours of content.

This is exciting news and existing users will not have to do a thing to get the new content as ‘Star’ will automatically be added on launch date.

We’ll bring you more news as it is fired our way.
