You thought you’d seen the last of them, but oh no, another Paranormal Activity movie is on the way from Paramount Pictures and producer Jason Blum. The seventh, yes SEVENTH film in the series is in the works at the studio, so says Paramount Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos who was speaking at last week’s CineEurope conference.
“We are partnering with uber horror producer Jason Blum to bring a new instalment of Paranormal Activity,” Gianopulos said to the audience.
The conference, which took place in Barcelona in Spain, is the official convention of the International Union of Cinemas (UNIC), Attendees were also treated to new footage from the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie, and the long-anticipated sequel to Top Gun, Top Gun: Maverick, which will debut in cinemas next summer.
The Paranormal Activity movies started in 2009. The first movie, a found footage genre piece, was reportedly put together for just $15,000, but made a whopping $193 million around the world.
No news on when we can expect the Paranormal Activity sequel, but we’ll keep you posted.
