HBO has officially given the green-light to the third season of True Detective. The news comes from the trade bible Variety and will roll into production soon.
The trade says that the next installment in the lucrative TV franchise tells the story of a macabre crime in the heart of the Ozarks, and a mystery that deepens over decades and plays out in three separate time periods. Ali will play the lead role of Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.
Oscar-winner Mahershala Ali will play the lead role of Wayne Hays, a state police detective from Northwest Arkansas.
Even though we expect the series to start shooting soon, the trade does say that there is no official start date or air date.
The other big news in the article says that Nic Pizzolatto is set to direct, along with Jeremy Saulnier.
