Taken will return to NBC for a second season after the network renewed the show, which is based on the three highly successful Liam Neeson-led movies. Clive Standen assumes the role of the younger Bryan Mills in the show, starring alongside Jennifer Beals, Gaius Charles, Brooklyn Sudano, Monique Gabriela Curnen, Michael Irby, James Landry Hébert, and Jose Pablo Cantillo.
In the show, a young Bryan Mills must fight to overcome personal tragedy and exact revenge on those responsible in this modern-day origin story to the Taken film trilogy. Still reeling from the devastating murder of his younger sister, Mills is quickly recruited by Christina Hart — the leader of a covert CIA operation — to work on her team. The job awakens a very particular — and very dangerous — set of skills in the former Green Beret. As Mills struggles to heal, he finds himself growing closer to Asha, his sister’s friend.
NBC has ordered sixteen hour long episodes for season 2, up from the ten of the first run. However, executive producer Alexander Cary is leaving the show after season one with a new showrunner to be revealed very soon.
