Showtime have revealed the air date for the big Twin Peaks return this year. The new season will hit the cable channel Stateside on Sunday 21st May at 9pm. It is expected to his Sky Atlantic in the UK very shortly afterwards – we’re assuming the very same week, if not the following day.
Twin Peaks will debut with a two-hour premiere special, with subscribers given access to the third and fourth hours on-demand directly afterwards. Those two episodes will screen the following week on the channel.
The new series is set 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town were stunned when their homecoming queen Laura Palmer was shockingly murdered.
David Lynch directs the 18-hour run in its entirety.
