We’re about four months out from James Mangold‘s Logan and the filmmaker has started to talk about the movie as he continues post-production on perhaps the final Wolverine movie with Hugh Jackman.
Speaking to Empire magazine about the movie sequel, the filmmaker described how he approached his second Wolvie movie.
“The goal was to make something human,” Mangold told the outlet. “We made an effort to scale back on the gloss and greenscreen…If you’re on the make for a hyper choreographed, gravity defying, city-block destroying CG f***athon, this ain’t your movie.”
Jackman himself added: “It’s essential you see this as the story of a man who is struggling with mortality and legacy, and whether the world has been better off with him or without him.”
The magazine also featured a new image of Jackman as the title character, seemingly carrying Laura/X-23 (Dafne Keane).
The film also stars Sir Patrick Stewart, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez and will open on March 3rd, 2017.
The new issue of Empire hits news stands today.
