Our good old friends, and some chap named Stefan Pape over at HeyUGuys have got themselves a bit of a scoop this week. The lads caught up with producer Graham King at the UK junket for his new film Allied, which opens at the end of the week (read our review here). King has a few movies up his sleeve which are about to roll into production, one of which is the reboot of the Tomb Raider movie with Alicia Vikander, and it seems that he has some news to share.
King told Stefan some new information regarding the story which you may find interesting. You can see King talk about the film in the video below, but here’s a little excerpt.
“Well this is kind of what we call a ‘back to the roots story’. This is a young Lara Croft in search to see if her father is dead or alive, so it has a very emotional part to it and I think that’s what Alicia found so interesting about it. I think the storytelling is really good and i think we’ve got the right crew and a great director and I think it’s going to be really fun making a film like this.”
Tomb Raider will roll into production next year for a 2018 release. The awesome Roar Uthaug (The Wave) will direct.
More news as it comes our way. Here’s the full video.
