The 2015 comedy, which was release last Christmas, grossed a whopping $240 million around the world, starred Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell. Sean Anders directed the film from a screenplay by John Morris, and both are returning for the sequel, according to Deadline.

Both Wahlberg and Ferrell have reportedly already signed up for the planned sequel, but no further cast members have been announced as yet.

We’ve got an interview with Sean Anders which will hit the site next week. At the end of it, the director spoke about his upcoming projects.

“John and I are writing a thriller, and we’ve also been working on the script about  adoption, which will still be comedy but slightly more dramatic comedy so those are two projects that we have in the pipeline now.”

We’ll bring you more news on Daddy’s Home 2 as we get it. Check back on Monday for our full interview with Seas Anders.
