Florence Foster Jenkins Premiere: Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant take to the red carpet ahead of the film’s release in the U.K. on May 6th, 2016.
Last night saw the Florence Foster Jenkins premiere take place in London’s Leicester Square, and co-stars Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg showed up alongside their director Stephen Frears.
The film doesn’t arrive in U.K. cinemas until May 6th, but we managed to get an early look at the film yesterday, and it’s really rather good. You can read our full review here, but here’s a snippet.
While perhaps not everyone’s cup of tea (the film will definitely appeal to the older members of the cinema-going public, a la The King’s Speech and The Lady In The Van), Florence Foster Jenkins is largely enjoyable affair that most will take something away from.
A wonderful, laugh-out-loud romp featuring stellar performances from most of its cast, especially the central four actors in Streep, Grant, Helberg and Ferguson. Hilarious, heartfelt and genuinely touching in places, and unlike its title character, near note-perfect.
We have some red carpet interviews with the cast and director at the Florence Foster Jenkins premiere in our YouTube windows below. Enjoy.
