As Adam Driver goes about promoting his latest film, the excellent Midnight Special, which opens next month, the actor has been talking about the film which he is currently working on, the highly anticipated Star Wars Episode 8, which is being directed by Rian Johnson. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly about the film, which is shooting in the U.K., Driver commented on working with his new director Johnson and the difference between making the eighth film in the series, and The Force Awakens.
“I feel like there was so many moving pieces in the first one – just trying to solve it and set the vocabulary for what it was. There’s a lot of that anxiety is gone, because people have developed a language”, he said.
“I think it’s more of a testament to Rian coming into something very established and making it [his]. I can’t wait to get on set, just because he’s so unassuming and intelligent and approachable. The script they’ve come up with is really great”.
So, it doesn’t sound like any Kylo Ren scenes have been shot as yet, but Driver seems love love the new role as the villain of the new trilogy.
