The next Star Trek movie, Star Trek Beyond, has gained a new cast member. News hit over the weekend that Shohreh Aghdashloo has joined the cast of the movie, even though its main shoot wrapped a few months ago. Aghdashloo, known for her work in House Of Sand And Fog, for which she was Oscar-nominated, will play the High Command of the Federation, with her role to be captured during planned reshoots on the Paramount property this week.
The actress has also appeared in the TV shows 24, and the SyFy housed The Expanse.
Justin Lin is directing the new Star Trek film, from a screenplay co-written by Simon Pegg, produced by J.J. Abrams. Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Pegg, and Idris Elba are amongst the cast of the film, which will still debut in cinemas on its planned release date, July 22nd, 2016.
We’ll be expecting a new trailer very soon for the flick, hopefully this time without the Beastie Boys soundtrack.
