British actor Ashley Thomas, aka Bashy, is to headline the upcoming Fox series 24: Legacy opposite Straight Outta Compton star Corey Hawkins. Thomas will play in one of the leads alongside Hawkins, as well as Miranda Otto, Teddy Sears, Anna Diop and Jimmy Smits.
Thomas will actually play Hawkins’ character, Eric Carter’s older brother. The pilot, which will be directed by Stephen Hopkins, revolves around Carter, a man with a troubled past who turned his life around in the Army Rangers, becoming a military hero. After settling with his wife in Virginia, Carter’s past comes back to haunt him and he’s pulled back into action. He eventually asks CTU for help saving his life and stopping what potentially could be one of the largest-scale terror attacks on American soil.
Thomas has appeared in numerous films and television roles, including a superb performance in Shank, and the celebrated TV series Black Mirror.
The new 24 pilot will start shooting soon with the intent on it being picked up as a new series, thus reigniting the TV franchise. Original star Kiefer Sutherland is not involved.
