Annabelle Wallis, who can be seen on the Netflix TV series Peaky Blinders opposite Tom Hardy, has joined the cast of The Mummy reboot over at Universal. The actress will appear opposite Tom Cruise and Sofia Boutella in the monster movie, which starts shooting very soon.
Not much is known about her role, or the film’s plot, but we’re hearing that it will actually be set in the modern day with Wallis playing an archaeologist, opposite Cruise’s special forces solider. Alex Kurtzman will direct from a screenplay by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus), with the film expected to land in cinemas in the summer of 2017.
Wallis can be seen in Grimsby opposite Sacha Baron Cohen. The comedy is now playing in cinemas. The actress also appeared in the period drama The Tudors, payed the role of Bridget in ABC’s drama Pan Am, and Mia Form in the supernatural horror film Annabelle. The rising star will also appear in Guy Ritchie’s King Arthur movie, Knights Of The Round Table: King Arthur next year.
The Mummy will be released on June 9, 2017.
