New Ghostbusters photo: See the new team of Ghostbusters in action in Paul Feig’s reboot.
A new Ghostbusters photo has been unveiled in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly. The magazine features a new look at the new female Ghostbusters in action in Paul Feig‘s summer 2016 movie, alongside what appears to be a fire station truck on its side.
The magazine also gives us a little insight into the upcoming reboot, and just who our four new heroines will be up against villain wise. Here’s an excerpt that appeared alongside the new Ghostbusters photo in the new edition.
“Dead criminals from all eras of New York’s underbelly past have returned to roost among the living in Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters reboot. Pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters are ready to take on four formidable female busters looking to rid the city of its phantasmic filth,” says the magazine.
We’re liking what we are hearing.
Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon,? and Leslie Jones lead the cast as the new Ghostbusters, while Neil Casey will play the film’s main villain. Chris Hemsworth stars as the as yet unnamed new secretary, Andy Garcia as the Mayor of New York City, Michael K. Williams as a character named ‘Hawkins’, and Matt Walsh as a character named ‘Rourke’.
The all-female team of Ghostbusters have unbelievably come under fire on social media following the news that it will be women rather than men battling ghosts in the reboot, and Melissa McCarthy had something to say about that to the magazine too.
“If this doesn’t work, we go back and lose our [right to] vote,” she joked. “I’m talking presuffragette.”
Ghostbusters opens around the world on July 22nd, 2016. Paul Feig directs from his own screenplay. We’re expecting the very first trailer to debut very soon, but until then, here’s that new Ghostbusters photo for your viewing pleasure.

It’s not that they are female, it’s the females they chose do not inspire. Melissa McCarthy is unwatchable for most people.
