After a successful festival circuit, Love & Mercy is set for a UK release on July 10th. It follows the true story of Brian Wilson, the leader and songwriter for The Beach Boys and, we’re told, paints an unconventional portrait of his life. Directed by Bill Pohlad, the film is set in and around the back catalogue of Wilson’s stunning music but also fully explores the personal troubles he encountered and the ultimate salvation of the icon whose success came at extraordinary personal cost.
Paul Dano and John Cusack play Wilson at different points in his life, alongside the excellent Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti. Watch the compelling trailer:
