Gillian Anderson is most famous for portraying the ever sceptical Dana Scully in The X-Files. The show saw her and her on-screen partner David Duchovny catapulted to mega stardom with sci-fi enthusiasts all over the world becoming obsessed with the show. Since the show ended Anderson has gone on to carve out an impressive career for herself. Her more recent roles in The Fall and Hannibal have gone down particularly well with audiences.

The busy actress also managed to find the time to co-pen her first novel A Vision of Fire which is out in shops now. Whilst promoting the book she took to Reddit for a ‘Ask Me Anything’ session. During the online chat she was asked the inevitable X-FILES 3 question which she politely skirted around by merely stating that there have ‘kinda’ been talks and to keep our ‘ears to the ground’. She was rather more excited by the idea of a third GHOSTBUSTERS film though, posting the below after being asked if she would be involved.

Oh my God, I just looked it up online. Paul Feig, cast me now! Start a Twitter petition! I’m Free!!!! I’m free, I’m free, I’m funny, goddamnit!

Paul Feig, the director of female friendly comedy BRIDESMAIDS confirmed last week that he is working on GHOSTBUSTERS 3. He also stated that it would be an all-girl team this time around. Surely if Feig can’t use her in a main role then she has to have some sort of cameo? We all want to see Scully once again investigating the paranormal and this could be the perfect opportunity.
