Two Hour Crossover Event Announced For Arrow And The Flash!

Arrow + The Flash

This year is certainly a great year to be a fan of Superheroes, television, DC Comics and most importantly…DC Comics television. Not only do we have the fantastic Arrow returning for its eagerly anticipated third season, but we also have The Flash speeding his way onto the small screen. And if that isn’t enough, fans can also look forward to NBC’s Constantine and Fox’s Batman prequel series Gotham, which should provide enough variety to satisfy any DC Comics enthusiast!

When it was first announced that Barry Allen would be introduced in a two-episode story arc during Arrow’s second season, in the hopes of kick-starting a Flash spin-off, fans and general viewers were both curious and dubious of the idea. However, following the great critical reception of both the episodes and Grant Gustin’s portrayal of the character, the brand new series is moving full speed ahead. On top of that, the pilot episode of The Flash has also received immense critical buzz following some incredibly positive test screenings, which has lead to some more ambitious plans being put in place.

It has now been revealed by showrunner Andrew Kreisberg, that both Arrow and The Flash will have a two hour crossover event before the first halves of both seasons have even concluded! In the same interview, Kreisberg also let slip that Arrow‘s Felicity Smoke will be making a trip to Central City in episode 4 of the upcoming sister show. You can check out the interview below:

‘Episodes 8 of both shows, Arrow and Flash, are going to be a two-hour crossover event. Also, in Episode 4, Felicity [Emily Bett Rickards] is going to come to The Flash‘.

‘It’s really going to be an adventure with the Arrow and Flash on both episodes. Watching the two teams come together and fight alongside each other, it’s one of the most fun parts. We just don’t believe in waiting. We really believe in accelerated storytelling and especially for those first nine episodes of the season—for both shows—hopefully we’ve designed it so that none of these [make you say], ‘Well, I missed that one, it’s fine”.

It seems that both Arrow and The Flash are giving us quite a bit to look forward to in terms of crossover’s and world building between the two series’. In terms of casting, the CW is also making frequent headlines too with the news that former Superman Brandon Routh will be joining Arrow, which is fantastic news after the talented star’s noticeable (and upsetting) absence from the spotlight. If you’re not already a fan of the astonishing Arrow and have a taste for quality, action television, then I recommend that you catch up quickly before this fall, because we’re in store for a small screen superhero event unlike any other!
