His face is familiar enough, but it’s Hank Azaria’s voice that has become recognizable around the world. He has rattled his tonsils as everyone from Moe Szyslak to Professor Frink in The Simpsons and is now taking the main role in another animated series from the writer of Family Guy. Bordertown is a potentially explosive look at the life of Bud Buckwald, an individual on the less correct side of the tracks who just so happens to work for Border Patrol.
Following Will Ferrell’s toe-dipping into similar waters, it seems lifting the lid on who gets in is the big topic for American satirists at the moment. Azaria will be supported by Alex Borstein (aka Lois Griffin) in a dual assignment as his wife and daughter, with Missi Pyle (GONE GIRL) and Judah Friedlander (30 Rock) playing the rest of the Buckwald brood.
Created by Mark Hentemann, the project reunites him with Seth MacFarlane as executive producer. The show’s financial perimeter is being closely monitored by Fox.
