We may know him for being bad ass in the movies, but John Malkovich is trying his hand at this TV malarky now! But if the trailer for NBC’s Crossbones is anything to go by, he’s chosen a great project to star in!

Crossbones sees Malkovich star as Blackbeard, the infamous pirate who roamed the seas in the 1700s. He comes up against Tom Lowe (Richard Coyle), an assassin disguised as a physician who is sent to the Bahamian island of New Providence, and is set with the task of taking out the ruthless and much-feared Blackbeard. Swashbuckling, torture, explosions and pillowing ensue. It will also star Claire Foy, David Hoflin, Yasmine Al Massri and Tracy Ifeachor.

Crossbones is created by Luther and Doctor Who writer Neil Cross, and the pilot episode is directed by HARD CANDY and 30 DAYS OF NIGHT director David Slade.

The series is set to premiere May 30th on NBC, but until then, why don’t you watch the trailer below?
