Having previously narrowed down the playing field to a shortlist of four actors, Fox has now cast newcomer Toby Kebbell as legendary villain Doctor Doom in next year’s THE FANTASTIC FOUR reboot.
This finally puts to bed earlier rumours of a female interpretation of the superhero squad’s arch-nemesis (Victoria von Doom?) and means we now have the primary cast in place for the film, with Miles Teller, Michael B. Jordan, Kate Mara and Jamie Bell as the titular Fantastic Four.
Kebbell has a relatively low key filmography compared to the current cast, but he’s still had some great supporting roles in WAR HORSE, THE EAST, DEAD MAN’S SHOES and the upcoming WARCRAFT film.
Rumours suggest that the reboot will be based on Marvel’s ‘The Ultimate Fantastic Four’ comic series, which focused on the group as younger characters – fitting considering the youthful cast.
THE FANTASTIC FOUR is directed by Josh Trank and is due to arrive in UK cinemas on 18th June, 2015.
