It’s an undeniably vital part of every production and so we’re proud to share the nominations for BAFTAs annual British AcademyTelevision Craft Awards. It celebrates and recognises the people who produce all the craft and hard work that goes into every show out there.
They honour the very best behind-the-scenes talent from television and new media and the ceremony will be held at The Brewery, in the City of London, on Sunday 27th April 2014 and once again hosted by the entertaining Stephen Mangan.
Leading the way with six nominations is BBC Two’s gangster family epic Peaky Blinders, featuring Cillian Murphy and Helen McCrory. ITV’s Broadchurch follows closely with five nominations, starring David Tennant and Olivia Colman as the officers investigating the murder of a young boy in a small coastal town, whilst Channel 4’s Utopia, receives four nominations. With three nominations apiece are: Doctor Who drama An Adventure in Space and Time, Sky 3D’s David Attenborough’s Natural History Museum Alive 3D, and crime dramas Luther and Top of the Lake.
Last month, BAFTA also announced that Saturday night entertainment show Strictly Come Dancing will receive the BAFTA Special Award at the Television Craft Awards ceremony. The behind-the-scenes crew are being awarded in recognition of the outstanding creative and technical teamwork that delivers consistently high-quality live entertainment and celebrates the past ten years of production.
