Here’s some good news for DOCTOR WHO fans still pining over Matt Smith after his emotional goodbye last Christmas with ‘The Time of The Doctor‘. It seems that they’re not the only ones as his companion Clara (Jenna Coleman) will be also be having a hard time coping with his replacement Peter Capaldi.
In Peter Capaldi’s debut episode as the twelfth Doctor, it is being reported that former time lord Matt Smith will be making a cameo appearance in order to help Clara get to grips with his replacement. Matt Smith’s eleventh Doctor will reportedly make a phone call to his companion from the past prior to his regeneration into Peter Capaldi. The phone call is said to reassure Clara of his new body and ease her acceptance of the much older man standing in front of her.
This is nice tip of the hat to Smiths Doctor that will surely help viewers say goodbye to the actors beloved take on the character. It is also a clever way of not only making Clara accept Capaldi on screen, but also the viewers at home who may not like the idea of an older actor taking on the role. After all, David Tennant and Matt Smith gave us much younger, energetic and (generally) upbeat takes on the Doctor which is almost definitely going to be different to Capaldi’s version of the character.
Do you think this is a good idea? will you be happy to hear Matt Smith’s voice one more time?, check back with The Hollywood News for more updates on DOCTOR WHO.
