Seth MacFarlane had a huge success on his hands with his directorial debut TED and while people might have been forgiven to think that he would follow that up with TED 2, he has instead chosen to do something completely different with a Western-Comedy called A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST that will also see his first major starring role (by the way, don’t worry, TED 2 is still in development). The film centres around a cowardly farmer (MacFarlane) who seeks the help of a gunslinger’s wife (Theron) to help him win back the woman who left him (Seyfried).
Now MacFarlane himself have released a whole bunch of character posters for the film. The characters all look fairly archetypical in terms of Western films with an added Western pun just for the hell of it. As someone who thought that TED was pretty funny, I’m looking forward to see what he can do with a genre-film, but I’ll expect plenty of gags aimed at below the belt.
A MILLION WAYS TO DIE IN THE WEST is directed by Seth Macfarlane. It stars Seth MacFarlane, Neil Patrick Harris, Amanda Seyfried, Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Giovanni Ribisi, & Sarah Silverman. The film will hit US cinemas on 30th May, 2014, and will hit UK cinemas on 6th June, 2014.
