US premium cable channel Starz is looking to join in the time-travelling TV world with an adaptation of the best selling novels Outlander. Not exactly Doctor Who but more Goodnight Sweetheart, the series follows a 1945 combat nurse who travels back to 1743 where she soon finds herself in a romance with a Scottish warrior. However, can a woman love two men over 200 years? And is that technically cheating? The series seems very romantically charged, and the trailer doesn’t give too much away. With there being 7 novels in the series by Diana Gabaldon, it looks as though the showrunners have plenty of material to work with.
Outlander, or Cross Stitch as it was titled in the UK, will be coming to Starz this summer and stars Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Tobias Menzies, Gary Lewis, Graham McTavish, Duncan Lacroix, Lotte Verbeek and Nell Hudson.
