’47 Ronin’ Short Animated Prequel

Boxing Day will see the release of the long delayed 47 RONIN, a fantasy adaptation based on a true story. The film sees Keanu Reeves and a band of 46 other masterless samurai as they seek vengeance for the death of their lord. The tale of 47 RONIN has been adapted many times in the past, but this bid budget affair is adding more of a mystical tone with monsters and witchcraft included.

In preparation for the film you may wish to watch the very short animated prequel below. It gives some background of Reeves’ character, as well as hinting at some of the great effects and creatures we’ll find ourselves encountering.

47 RONIN is released on the 25th December in the US and a day later in the UK. It stars Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ko Shibasaki, Tadanobu Asano and Min Tanaka.
