A rather exciting teaser trailer and poster, that recalls the sci-fi fantasy films of the 1980s, has been released for the mysterious project known as EARTH TO ECHO. J.J. Abrams recently attempted to capture the the same essence with SUPER 8, and this upcoming family-friendly sci-fi adventure looks to be following the same path in reminding us of our love of childhood films such as ET, FLIGHT OF THE NAVIGATOR and EXPLORERS.
EARTH TO ECHO is directed by Dave Green, from a screenplay by Henry Gayden and Andrew Panay, and stars newcomers Teo Halm, Brian Bradley, Reese Hartwig and Ella Linnea Wahlestedt. It hits cinemas on the 25th April 2014. Check out the trailer and poster just below the following official synopsis:
After a construction project begins digging in their neighbourhood, best friends Tuck, Munch and Alex inexplicably begin to receive strange, encoded messages on their cell phones. Convinced something bigger is going on, they go to their parents and the authorities. When everyone around them refuses to take the messages seriously, the three embark on a secret adventure to crack the code and follow it to its source. But taking matters into their own hands gets the trio in way over their heads when they discover a mysterious being from another world who desperately needs their help. The epic, suspenseful and exciting journey that follows will change all of their lives forever.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
