Get Ready For ‘The Princess Bride: The Musical’

It’s a cinematic classic, and now it looks like it’ll finally be coming to the stage, as Disney are teaming up with author and screenwriter William Goldman to develop a musical version of THE PRINCESS BRIDE.

Goldman originally penned drafts of the musical a few years ago, but the project was abandoned due to financial troubles. It seems Disney are looking to start afresh though, as none of the material from those early drafts will be used in the new project.

THE PRINCESS BRIDE is legendary, and it should hopefully be in safe hands with Disney. We can at least sleep soundly with the knowledge that Goldman, author of the original 1973 novel and 1978 screenplay, will be adapting the story to the stage.

There’s no casting, release or creative team info for now – this is just an initial announcement – but stay tuned to THN for more as we get it. Would you like to see some actors sing songs about THE PRINCESS BRIDE? Let us know in the comments below.
