Agents Of Shield

Famous for his role as Riker in the Star Trek universe, Jonathan Frakes is also a well established director. Credits include two of the Star Trek films (STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT and STAR TREK INSURRECTION) as well as countless television shows including Roswell, Burn Notice and Joss Whedon’s Dollhouse. Next up for the actor/director will be a pivotal episode of new series Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D follows the adventures of the team of people who assist The Avengers. The first episode was set after the events of movie THE AVENGERS, with Agent Coulson being revealed to have survived, and sees the team try and pick up the pieces of society after that epic battle at the end of the film. The pilot episode also featured fellow S.H.I.E.L.D agent Maria Hill, played again by How I Met Your Mother‘s Cobie Smulders, and the second episode ended with none other than Samuel L. Jackson a.k.a Mr Nick Fury himself pop-up to give Coulson an ear-bashing. This theme of bringing stars from the films into the television series is set to continue later this month.

Directed by the aforementioned Frakes, episode eight titled ‘The Well’ will be set after new film THOR: THE DARK WORLD. The official synopsis for the episode states:

In the aftermath of the events chronicled in the feature film Marvel’s THOR: THE DARK WORLD, Coulson and the Agents of SHIELD pick up the pieces – one of which threatens to destroy a member of the team.

In keeping with the cameos that have gone before some of the stars of the film, including Peter MacNicol, Michael Graziadei, and Erin Way, have all been confirmed as reprising their roles. Unfortunately the Norse God himself, Chris Hemsworth, is unlikely to appear.

The episode will air November 19th in the US, and just a few days later on November 22nd in the UK. THOR: THE DARK WORLD is already open at cinemas across the UK and is due for release in the States November 8th.
