Coming rather swiftly after the initial first fast-paced look at Spike Lee’s controversial remake of Chan-wook Park’s classic South Korean head-twister OLDBOY, we’ve an intense new clip. Josh Brolin’s Joe Doucett looks a little upset when he learns Elizabeth Olsen’s snooping social-worker has been digging into his mysterious past. Those of you who’ve seen the 2002 original masterpiece will know just how her character ties into Brolin’s world as he seeks answers (and brutal revenge) from those who keep him prisoner for 20 years!
Oldboy is a provocative, visceral thriller that follows the story of Joe Doucett, a man who is abruptly kidnapped and held hostage for 20 years in solitary confinement, for no apparent reason. When he is suddenly released without explanation, he begins an obsessive mission to find out who imprisoned him, only to discover that the real mystery is why he was set free.
OLDBOY co-stars Sharlto Copley, Lance Reddick, Michael Imperioli, James Ransone and opens in US cinemas on 27th November and the UK 6th December.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
