Author Stephen Chbosky looks set to follow-up his acclaimed directorial debut, THE PERKS OF OF BEING A WALLFLOWER (which was based on his own novel) with an adaptation of Adena Halpern’s fantasy novel 29. HARRY POTTER’s Emma Watson, who garnered rave reviews from her role in Chbosky’s film, is expected to reunite with the filmmaker on the project now retitled WHILE WE’RE YOUNG.
The film, which has a script from 500 DAYS OF SUMMER and THE SPECTACULAR NOW screenwriters Michael H. Weber & Scott Neustadter, follows the ever-familiar body switch plot seen in the likes of BIG, 13 GOING ON 30 and VICE VERSA. This time centring on a 75-year old woman who is magically granted a birthday wish of being 29 again, only realising she has more in common with her 29 year-old Granddaughter than her own older daughter.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
