Known for his explosive and epic actioners, powerhouse producer and director Michael Bay finally saw his passion project PAIN & GAIN make it to the big-screen earlier in the year. While he’s also the main player at the much-maligned Platinum Dunes – the horror remake machine behind the likes of TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, FRIDAY THE 13TH and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET redo’s – it appears Bay has another passion project he’s desperate to complete. Directing a horror flick!
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Bay seems determined in making a move into the genre sometime in the future:
“I have a great fantasy — that I will probably make a reality — of directing my own self-financed horror movie. I love this genre because the movie is the star.”
Would you like to see Bay let loose on the genre that many fans believe he has tarnished with his producing studio Platinum Dunes? Do let us know!

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
