Hailee Steinfeld has joined Vince Vaughn in TERM LIFE, Universal Pictures’ adaptation of Image Comics’ graphic novel of the same name.
Steinfeld is certainly one of the most popular young actresses working in Hollywood at the moment with upcoming appearances in ROMEO AND JULIET and ENDER’S GAME. Steinfeld also has an astonishing amount of award wins and nominations under her belt for a sixteen year old, including an academy award nomination and BAFTA award nomination for her role in 2010’s TRUE GRIT.
TERM LIFE will reunite Vince Vaughn and COUPLES RETREAT director Peter Billingsley for the action thriller. The film is based on the obscure 2011 graphic novel from A.J. Lieberman and Nick Thornborrow, here is the synopsis:
‘If Nick Barrow can stay alive for 21 days he’ll die happy. Everyone Nick knows wants him dead; Mob bosses, contract killers, and dirty cops. Performing the last act of a desperate man, Nick takes out a million dollar insurance policy on himself, payable to his estranged daughter. The problem? The policy doesn’t take effect for 21 days. Nick knows they’ll be lucky to be alive for twenty-one hours.’
From the sounds of it this film has the potential to be quite an original and entertaining action thriller no doubt with a little of Vaughn’s trademark dry-fast talking wit thrown in their for good measure.
Vaughn will produce the film through his production company Wild West Picture Show alongside Victoria Vaughn and Mica Mason with original comic creator AJ. Lieberman writing the adapted screenplay. Filming is slated to begin early next year and expect to hear more news on this soon.
