It’s a bit like HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS crossed with JULIE/JULIA. Sort of. But Warner Brothers have just announced that they will be turning the sensational blog ‘40 Days of Dating’ into a film.
The blog was created by Jessica Walsh and Timothy Goodman, both designers in New York, and follows their decision to date each other for 40 days. Walsh, a serial monogamist, and Goodman, a serial dater, have to follow certain rules, such as date exclusively, see each other every day, take a weekend trip together, along with regularly seeing a therapist! As if dating isn’t hard enough…
The film already has a director in the form of Michael Sucsy, known for THE VOW, with SEEKING A FRIEND FOR THE END OF THE WORLD’s Lorene Scafaria writing the script.
The blog explores the unique experiment where dating is analysed and approached somewhat scientifically, so it will be interesting to see if Warner Brothers can give this film more depth than the generic rom-coms which seem to be churned out so often.
