The ‘Robocop’ Remake Gets A Poster

In 2014 we will get a remake of Paul Verhoeven’s superb 1987 cult favourite ROBOCOP, whether we like it or not. Last week, we received the first trailer for the film, which was pretty much like the one we saw at the San Diego Comic Con back in July, and this week we get a peak at the first one-sheet poster. Jose Padilha directs the new film for Sony and MGM, and our own honest opinion, so far we like what we see, but this could very much go either way.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Synopsis: In “RoboCop,” the year is 2028 and multinational conglomerate OmniCorp is at the center of robot technology. Their drones are winning American wars around the globe and now they want to bring this technology to the home front. Alex Murphy (Kinnaman) is a loving husband, father and good cop doing his best to stem the tide of crime and corruption in Detroit. After he is critically injured in the line of duty, OmniCorp utilizes their remarkable science of robotics to save Alex’s life. He returns to the streets of his beloved city with amazing new abilities, but with issues a regular man has never had to face before.

Joel Kinnaman, Abbie Cornish, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Samuel L. Jackson, Jackie Earle Haley, Michael K. Williams, Jay Baruchel, Jennifer Ehle, and Marianne Jean-Baptiste star. ROBOCOP opens in the US and the UK on 7th February 2013. Check out the trailer here, and the new poster below.
