It seems as though after his phenomenal return to live-action cinema with FLIGHT, Robert Zemeckis will continue to leave his mo-cap buddies alone for awhile. Zemeckis is looking to adapt a Young Adult novel (Not another one!) called The Knife Of Never Letting Go, the first in a series of books. Retitled CHAOS WALKING so as to save some inking on the eventual posters, it tells the story of a boy who lives in a town where everyone can hear everyone’s thoughts in a never ending shamble of noise. Sounds like WHAT WOMEN WANT taken to the next level, which would have been an awesome film because we could have heard Mel Gibson’s thoughts…actually, that scares me.
With Zemeckis behind the camera and Charlie Kaufman scripting the little blighter, this is sure to be more than just another TWILIGHT/THE HUNGER GAMES clone that we have come to expect from the letters YA. It may not be the best time to announce a potential franchise after the delay of THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF ASHES, but let’s not tar them all with the same brush.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
