‘Better Call Saul’, the planned spin-off show featuring Bob Odenkirk’s sleazy lawyer Saul Goodman from the smash-hit show ‘Breaking Bad’ has officially been greenlit by AMC and Sony Pictures Television in the US. The show, which will act as a prequel to BB, will have a pilot go ahead with a series expected to follow with ‘Breaking Bad’ creator Vince Gilligan and character co-creator Peter Gould behind it.

An ‘official website’ for Saul has gone up over here, and you can check out a faux commercial for the man below too (there’s tons more over at BetterCallSaul.com, including a brilliant ‘live’ webcam).

No word yet as to when the show will start shooting, or a possible air date, but as ever, we’ll keep you posted.

Here’s the official announcement.

NEW YORK, NY, Sept. 11, 2013 – AMC and Sony Pictures Television confirmed today that they have reached a licensing agreement for a spinoff of Vince Gilligan’s landmark AMC/SPT series Breaking Bad. As conceived, the new series is based on the show’s popular Saul Goodman character with the working title Better Call Saul. Plans call for Saul to be a one-hour prequel that will focus on the evolution of the popular Saul Goodman character before he ever became Walter White’s lawyer.
