Can we get a ‘hell yeah!’ for BEING HUMAN and SHERLOCK actor Russell Tovey? It looks like our good friends overseas will finally be able to experience his talent for a television show, and his debut US TV role looks set to be a blinder.
He joins Jonathan Groff, Frankie J. Alvarez, Murray Bartlett and Scott Bakula in HBO’s LOOKING. Being dubbed as the male version of GIRLS, the half hour drama/comedy follows a group of gay men living in San Francisco. Tovey will be playing Kevin, described as a ‘video game wunderkid’ who has already achieved financial and critical success, who works closely with lead character Patrick (played by Groff).
But why such hype already? While the show is created by Michael Lannan, LOOKING’s pilot was directed by none other than Andrew Haigh, the director of romantic drama WEEKEND. We don’t want to put expectation on it already…but with so much talent we can’t help it.
LOOKING is set to start filming in a few weeks time.
