‘Thor: The Dark World’ To Receive An Earlier US October IMAX 3D Release!

Despite the troubles behind-the-scenes regarding reshoots and running time arguments, Marvel’s THOR: THE DARK WORLD will not only make it’s early November general release date but it’s now confirmed in the below press release for a 30th October IMAX 3D date, matching the UK date. Fans need not worry any longer as Chris Hemsworth’s hammer-swinging intergalactic superhero will return in the sequel to his 2011 hit. Alan Taylor is the director taking the reigns from the first film’s Kenneth Branagh.

IMAX Corporation and Marvel Entertainment, a division of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE: DIS), today announced that Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World, starring Chris Hemsworth, will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX® 3D format and released into IMAX® 3D theatres internationally beginning Oct. 30.

The IMAX release of Marvel’s Thor: The Dark World will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX 3D Experience®with proprietary IMAX DMR®(Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the movie.
